YUTAKA
Others
YUTAKA is an artist who captures sensibilities that resist language. From an early age, he was immersed in ceramics, developing his creative foundation through direct engagement with nature. Working primarily with Mino clay, he incorporates natural elements such as stone, ash, and metal, embracing the dynamic interplay between control and chance shaped by fire.
Rather than pursuing perfect forms, he allows subtle distortions and fluctuations guided by the rhythm of breath. Within these irregularities, he creates “ma” — a space that invites the presence and participation of others. For YUTAKA, an utuwa (a Japanese vessel) is never a finished object, but a process that continues to evolve through the user’s time and emotions.
By translating Japanese aesthetics into a contemporary context and expanding objects into lived experiences, he seeks to create moments in which people can rediscover trust in their own senses and reconnect with the world. His practice is an ongoing exploration of how art can restore a deeper relationship between human perception and existence.
