YOSHIKO

Painter

YOSHIKO was born and raised in Osaka, where she learned to play the piano and became familiar with music from an early age. She loved looking at the overseas photo books and art magazines collected by her father, and dreamed of going abroad someday.

In junior high school, her art teacher recognized her talent, and she became fascinated with creating. However, she went on to study at a music college and set painting aside for a while. Despite this, the rhythm and emotion she cultivated through music had a deep influence on her paintings. One day, her desire to draw burst forth, and she returned to creating.

Influenced by her encounter with Chuta Kimura's work, she developed her own style of abstractly depicting landscapes and memories. Her works evoke emotions drawn from the viewers' memories, while comments like “I was healed” and “I felt energized” continue to motivate her.

After holding a solo exhibition in Ginza in 2023, she expanded her activities to Tokyo and exhibited in New York in 2024, gradually bringing her childhood dream to life.
