The origin of the artist shobo’s work is fish. He began drawing every day at the age of four. By the time he was ten, his focus shifted from familiar fish to exotic ones. During this period, a mysterious feeling began to bloom within him, and he became immersed in a fantastical world where fish and monsters merged.

This marked the beginning of his pencil drawings. By using pencils of varying hardness, he expresses a wide range of textures. The contrast between light and shadow emphasizes gradients, creating a sense of power and sharpness.

Furthermore, immersing himself in meticulous detail brings him mental stability and focus. He was always walking through the darkness. The worlds he creates are a "refuge" for when the heart is weary, as well as a "place to face oneself." It is a vital space for protecting the soul—something everyone needs.

He draws with the hope that his work can warmly embrace and stand by people.Through his art, he came to realize that by changing one’s own perspective, the world before them can change its color at any time. He wishes to explore the potential of color to regulate emotions and convey that message to many through his art.
