Ryuubi

Calligrapher

Ryuubi is a Japanese calligrapher and artist whose work explores the quiet moments in which the mind returns to itself.

Rooted in traditional brush techniques, her practice focuses on expressing human emotions and inner states through a single character, allowing space, rhythm, and presence to speak beyond language. Rather than treating characters as symbols of information, she approaches each stroke as a living form that reflects subtle shifts of feeling and time.

Ryuubi has exhibited her work both in Japan and internationally, including exhibitions in Paris, New York, and Dubai. She received the Excellence Award at the New York International Calligraphy Exhibition and the French International Art Award, and was selected as the Grand Prize winner of the Calligraphy Division in the 2025 Contemporary Art Yearbook.

Alongside her artistic practice, she is also dedicated to teaching calligraphy, sharing it as a meditative and restorative experience. Through her work, Ryuubi seeks to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries, offering calligraphy as a quiet space where viewers can reconnect with themselves.
