Miyo is a contemporary texture artist whose practice explores the interplay of surface, color, and shadow. Captivated by the transformations that occur when light shifts across textured forms, she translates these ephemeral impressions into works that embody both restraint and depth.

Her process embraces the element of chance—through the layering of materials and the organic character of each surface—while remaining rooted in the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, which finds beauty in simplicity, imperfection, and the passage of time.

Through subtle tones and richly layered textures, she reflects on themes of transience, the dialogue between past and future, and the harmony between humanity and nature.

Now based in the United States, she has been expanding her international presence since 2022, with exhibitions in Hong Kong and New York.

偶然に生まれる重なりや素材の表情を大切にしながら、「侘び寂び」の簡素さや不完全さの中に潜む美を、深みのある質感や抑えた色調を通して「侘び寂び」「経年変化」「影と色の移ろい」「過去と未来」「自然との調和」をテーマに制作を続けている。

作品は表面的に眺めるだけでなく、細部や奥行きに目を凝らすことで、隠された力強さや深みを感じさせ、重厚さと繊細さが共存する質感が特徴だ。
