Kiyofumi Yamashita

Kiyofumi Yamashita is a painter who anchors the anxieties of a rapidly transforming world through the "wedge of his artistic creation. His creative roots trace back to his childhood in a machine workshop, where he spent his days mesmerized by the textures of sand, puddles, and heavy oil. This early fascination with materials became the enduring backbone of his current expressive style.

He once utilized synthetic lacquer as a protective ""shell"" for his work, but when the material was discontinued, he adapted by embracing resin as a new ""vessel of light."" Despite this evolution in medium, Yamashita’s ""lines of prayer""—his profound desire to connect with others—remain constant. He seals moments where paths of solitude intersect within deep, transparent layers, proving that certain bonds remain eternal in a shifting world.

In Japan, his career is anchored by awards at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art and regular solo exhibitions. 山下清文は、変容し続ける世界への不安を創作という楔（くさび）で繋ぎ止める画家である。町工場で育った氏の原点は、遊び場だった工場で見つめた砂や水たまり、重油の質感にある。この時培われた素材への尽きない興味が、現在の表現を支える骨格となった。

かつては合成漆を「殻」として用いたが、素材の製造中止を機にレジンという新たな「光の器」へ適応。素材が変わっても、そこに刻まれる「人と繋がりたい」という祈りの線は変わらない。深く澄んだ層の中に孤独が交差する瞬間を封じ込め、不変の繋がりを証明し続けている。

国内では豊田市美術館での受賞や個展を主軸に、年3〜5回という精力的なペースで展示を開催。近年はパリやNYへも進出し、2025年のドバイ・パリ国際博に加え、2026年のNY、東京、名古屋での出展も決定した。地域に根ざしながら国際舞台へ挑み続ける鮮烈な表現は、国内外で深い共鳴と注目を集めている。"
