Anuenue is a shoemaker who hopes to bring smiles to children with her handmade baby shoes.

Her father is also a shoemaker, and from an early age, she loved looking at the adorable baby shoes in his workshop. Over time, she developed an interest in crafting and enjoyed remaking accessories and clothing. Eventually, she decided to inherit her elderly father’s skills and began making baby shoes.

While many children wear cute clothing, little attention is paid to their shoes. Having loved fashion since childhood, she hopes children can enjoy fashion from their feet. Rather than mass production, she focuses on custom-made baby shoes, working under the theme: “a unique pair of baby shoes for each person.”

Recently, she has been focusing on making shoes from readymade kimonos and obi. Each pattern on a kimono carries a meaning — for example, a crane represents a wish for longevity. She aims to embed these blessings into each pair of shoes, spreading them as “amulets” that protect the feet of children all over the world.

靴職人の父を持ち、幼い頃から仕事場で可愛いベビー靴を眺めるのが好きだった。次第にものづくりに関心を持ち、小物や洋服のリメイクを楽しむようになった彼女は、高齢となった父から技術を継承し、ベビー靴づくりに取り組む決意を固めた。

可愛い洋服を着る子供が多い一方で、靴にまでお洒落に気を配る姿は少ない。昔からファッションが好きだった彼女は、足元からお洒落を楽しんでほしいという想いから、量産ではなく「世界に一足のベビー靴」をテーマに、カスタムオーダー中心で製作を行っている。

最近は、着物や帯をリメイクした靴づくりにも力を注いでいる。着物の柄には一つ一つ意味があり、例えば鶴は「健康で長生きしますように」という願いが込められている。その祈りを靴に込め、世界中の子供たちの足元を守る“お守り”のような存在として広めていくことを目指している。
