‘One Drop of HOPE’

Anela Meli is a mixed-media artist who weaves symbolic hope into gentle textures and layered narratives.Her recurring motif, Elfy—a honeybee with angel wings—embodies her belief in compassion, resilience, and quiet joy. A symbolic extension of herself, Elfy reflects the gentle strength she aspires to share with the world.

After graduating from university, Anela Meli began her creative journey as a book editor. While working in New York, she encountered punch needle embroidery and was drawn to its warm, tactile quality. This experience inspired her to explore embroidery beyond traditional boundaries, merging it with painting and storytelling to create original, emotionally resonant works.

Despite the harshness of today’s world, she believes in the goodness within human nature. Her guiding concept, “One Drop of HOPE,” suggests that even a small act of kindness—or a simple shift in perspective—can ripple outward like a drop of water and grow into a mighty river.

That spirit animates her short film ‘Smile Evangelist’, which won 1st Place at Kino Drome (Cleveland) and an Outstanding Achievement Award at the Berlin Flash Film Festival, as well as her embroidered picture book ‘Miracle Honey—PonoPono’.

Anela Meli continues to create—stitch by stitch—with a heartfelt desire to help build a world where everyone can live freely and gently, guided by love and light.

‘One Drop of HOPE’

Anela Meli（アネラ メリ）は、やわらかな質感と重層的な物語によって、 象徴的な“HOPE(希望)”を織り上げるミクストメディア・アーティストである。 天使の羽をもつミツバチ「Elfy（エルフィー）」は、作家自身の投影でもあり、 思いやり、しなやかさ、静かな喜びを象徴している。

大学卒業後、編集者として創作の道を歩み始めた。 ニューヨーク勤務中にパンチニードル刺繍に出会い、 その温かく触感的な魅力に強く惹かれたことをきっかけに、 刺繍を絵画やストーリーテリングと融合させる独自の表現を展開している。

厳しい現代社会においても、彼女は人はだれでも本来優しさを持っていると信じている。 「One Drop of HOPE」というコンセプトは、ささやかな優しさや視点の変化が 水滴のように広がり、やがて大河となることを示唆している。

短編映像『Smile Evangelist』はKino Drome（クリーブランド）で最優秀賞、
Berlin Flash Film Festivalで優秀賞を受賞。
刺繍絵本『Miracle Honey―PonoPono』も発表している。

愛と光に導かれるように、だれもが自由でその人らしくいられる優しい世界を願って、 一刺し一刺し創作している。
