TAD OYAMA (Illustrator)
The front cover of a magazine that featured a young Oyama drawing a piece of artwork. The distant memory of this art piece being displayed on the wall of the principal's office in his elementary school.
This is how Tadashi Oyama began his career as an artist.
In 2015 after a tumor was found in his brain, he was diagnosed with a terminal disease.
He was hospitalized for two months. He had no option, but to stay in bed and undergo a treatment. While in the hospital, he continued to draw and express his experience through his artwork.
After leaving the hospital, he drew a painting of a horse that meant a lot, and was important to one of his former teachers. He gifted this painting to the former teacher, and was amazed at how much he had made the teacher happy. Through this experience, he deeply realized that these paintings of the animals could strike the chord in the hearts of a human being.
Since then, he has specialized in painting animals mainly.
He continues to paint as he hopes to make people laugh, and give them a piece of mind through his artwork.
