Aya Sekiguchi (Painter)
Aya Sekiguchi （https://www.instagram.com/ayarts/?hl=ja is a Japanese illustrator, and painter who was born in 1983. Currently, she lives and works in Toyama, Japan. She liked the action of drawing pictures since she can remember, she was also exploring and interacting with animals, and flower fields since she was a young child. Despite that, she was encouraged to advance into an art university by her surroundings, and she entered various professions like newspaper company, program production division at local TV station. In 2014, she started to drawing beautiful flowers, and her cats that live with her She held a first exhibition of her pictures at Ushijimaya Gallery in Toyama in 2015. In 2017, she displayed her work in group exhibition at Hanasho, Brisbane in Australia Aya’s credits include cover illustrations for book such as “Biological Diversity, Natural Capital Management in SDGs and ESG era (Nikkei BP publishing)” in 2017, and the golden award-winning “The Chocolate, Valentine Day Package Art Contest” by Meiji company in 2018. She excels in the use of her favorite subjects of nature, flowers, and animals. Aya often noted: "My pictures set me free and I hope colorful image and beautiful motifs of my pictures can melt your heart" Her recent artworks have pictures on books, magazines, wall paintings, and package illustrations for various merchandises.
