Chika MacDonald (painter)

Chika was born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan. She majored in music in college. After graduating, she worked for an interior design company where she acquired designing skills.

                        
Chika moved to the U.S. in 1994. She worked for Diamond-Falk Architects. Responsibilities included drawing plans, drafting, and designing.
                        
After she met Ms. Kiyoko Yamamoto, a Yuzen dye artist, at her New York exhibition, Chika was taken by the dye art and begun studying under Ms. Yamamoto. Currently she is devoting her creative energy in Yuzen production to familiarize people in the U.S. with an art of Yuzen dye.
